I have always been a gamer. Always owning the latest consoles, games have practically raised me, and made me the type of person I am today. I have a passion for games, and it was about 4 years ago that I decided that I wanted to create games. I have always been a fan of indie games, because some of them are so much better than what commercial companies can create.
With indie games, you are not bound by rules. You can create the game exactly how you want, and this really appealed to me. I started working on my first game (I Wanna Be The Shrine Maiden). Granted, it is not a very polished game, and does have errors, but this was 4 years ago, and I was still learning the ropes. Since then, I have created more games, and successfully taken part in London Expo twice.
My first 2 proper games that I am really pleased with are Pixel Escape and Toy Tanks. I showed Pixel Escape to some companies at the October London Expo 2010, and got some very good feedback. To me, this is amazing. I never thought that I would get some companies to try my games, but they have, and to hear that they like it, is really really awesome.
I am currently a computer game design student at the University of Essex, and create my games in my free time, when not in lectures, labs, in the student union bar, or at some club night (contrary to belief, game designers do have lives too!)
